Client Profile

Freehand Projects is an Ocean Grove-based contemporary architecture company owned by Michael and Tamara Bell. Their vision is to create architectural designs that simultaneously leverage and preserve the unique natural and civic environments of Ocean Grove.

Freehand Projects create engaging, considered architecture + interior design to indulge the senses and stand the test of time. The spaces they create are intended to be functional as well as interesting, and always in tune with the surrounding environment.

What makes Freehand Projects unique is their innovative approach to using old-school 70’s design as inspiration for creating modern, simple plans with a coastal feel in mind. Co-founder Michael Bell is also a set designer for large-scale Australian films, such as Moulin Rouge, Australia, The Dressmaker, and The True History Of The Kelly Gang.

The Challenge

Passionfolk began working with Freehand Projects in early 2020 for a brand refresh, including repositioning the brand.

Passionfolk’s new brand strategy focused on emphasising the Freehand Projects story and the role it plays in Ocean Grove’s evolving landscape. This resulted in an updated logo design, a new website, organic social media strategy, management and content creation, and public relations activity.

We were delighted to achieve coverage of the Bellarine Hillside House in ArchDaily, the world’s biggest architecture website.

Visit Freehand Projects to see some of their previous builds and to get in contact.
