Western Vic PHN - Suicide Prevention Support Campaign (Ballarat)

About The Project

Passionfolk was engaged by Western Victorian Primary Health Network (WVPHN) to develop and deliver a multi-faceted community awareness campaign for Ballarat in response to the alarming suicide rates in the region.

Our Approach

We worked closely with a project team of psychologists, university personnel, teachers and school principals, sporting clubs, police, ambulance and other leaders of the Ballarat community.

We developed a comprehensive communications campaign including PR, advertising, social media and materials provided to Ballarat organisations.

The Campaign Message

Support is available for Ballarat - whether you need it, or you want to learn how to support others. Help us spread the word and embrace our community.

The Idea

Ballarat can acknowledge that there has been some traumatic incidents lately, and that help is available for everyone in the community. Encourage everyone to 'get together Ballarat' and share the resources/support.

Just like a 'National Day':

  • Supplied a downloadable zip file with all the assets available to share using different platforms (also available on the website - ballarat.help

  • Ballarat can choose to show support by sharing whatever works/is preferred:

    • A social media post (FB, IG, Linkedin).

    • Temporary FB profile pic. (Use the hashtag #bettertogetherballarat)

    • A newsletter banner or tile

    • A poster that can be printed

    • Zoom background

Distributed to Ballarat people, schools, businesses and organisations to share through their communities.

Local leaders identified to act as 'ambassadors' - I.e. government, sporting team coaches, youth group leaders.
